As we circle one another, sniffing out comments, watching the tics,
anticipating the breaks here. . . now here. . . we are a pride.
It must be that keeping these problems alive.
It must be that fueling all of this:
Our insulation, our survival, our dysfunction.
Even now, after turning on the young,
he will not be cast out.
We are not elephants.
